About Us

Dr. Lowell Gill is an orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience with hip and knee replacements, knee and ankle arthroscopies, and foot and ankle surgery. His primary interest is in the care of his patients and he believes each patient provides a special and unique experience. Dr. Gill is happy to announce his new location in the greater Charlotte area.

Services

Dr. Gill evaluates all orthopaedic conditions in the office setting including the spine and upper extremities, but limits hits surgical procedures to the lower extremities including the hip, knee, ankle and foot.

History

Formerly with Miller Orthopaedic Clinic and Gill Orthopaedic Clinic/Novant Health, Dr. Gill has practiced in the Charlotte area for over 20 years.  He obtained his medical degree from Duke University Medical School and continued at Duke for his surgical internship. His specialty training was completed at the University of California, San Francisco where he trained in one of our country's busiest and top medical centers for total joint replacements. Dr. Gill also trained with two of our country's most distinguished and experienced orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeons. He has continued this same emphasis throughout the years of his practice.

Professional Affiliations and Achievements

Dr. Gill has served in leadership positions for a number of Orthopaedic Societies including being past President of the Southern Orthopaedic Association, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Orthopaedic Foot Club. He has also served on the boards of the Eastern Orthopaedic Association and North Carolina Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Gill has held positions for a number of additional professional associations such as the American Academy or Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons where he served as a board examiner for a number of years. He has been a guest lecturer having made more than one hundred orthopaedic presentations throughout the United States as well as Europe, Asia, and Africa. Dr. Gill has authored numerous publications and served as a reviewer for multiple orthopaedic journals helping to improve the scientific validity of other author's publications. In addition, he has volunteered his services for the Special Olympics.
